CESG appoints consortium to provide information assurance certification

CESG, the National Technical Authority for Information Assurance, has appointed a consortium of the University of London's Information Security Group, the Institute of Information Security Professionals (IISP) and the Council for Registered Ethical Security Testers (Crest) to provide certification for UK government information assurance professionals.

The consortium has been awarded a licence to issue the CESG Certified Professional Mark based on the IISP skills framework. The move is part of a certification scheme driven by CESG, the information assurance arm of GCHQ.
