Crime gangs may target London 2012 Olympics computer systems as a cover for a far bigger cyber attack on financial institutions in the City, an expert has warned. One of the UK’s leading experts on cyber security have warned all traders, banks and financial institutions to act now to shore up systems against an attack next July.
According to experts, the London Olympics is billed as the first “truly digital games,” Express.co.uk reports.
Stuart Okin, former chief security adviser at Microsoft UK, said it was a “given” that hackers would try and breach Olympic security.
At the Beijing Games there were 12 million attempted cyber breaches.
